Cookie policy
What we store in your browser, what for, how long, and how to change it whenever you want.
This policy explains the cookies and similar technologies — pixels, local storage — used by risksint.org. It is governed by article 5(3) of Directive 2002/58/EC and Regulation (EU) 2016/679 when you are in the European Union, and by Colombian Law 1581 of 2012 and Decree 1377 of 2013, where a cookie that allows a person to be recognised is personal data.
What a cookie is
A small file a site stores in your browser and reads back later. It remembers something between one page and the next: that you already chose a language, that you signed in, that you said no to measurement. Equivalent technologies — tracking pixels and local storage — are used alongside them, and this policy covers those too.
On what basis we use them
Necessary cookies do not ask permission because the site does not work without them: you could not sign in, keep your language, or have a “no” to the others respected. European law exempts them, and Colombian law does not require authorization for what is indispensable to provide the service you asked for.
Everything else — analytics and marketing — is installed only with your prior, express and informed consent. Until you give it, they do not load: it is not that they load and are ignored, it is that the script never reaches your browser.
Exactly which cookies we use
Cookie by cookie, with who sets it, what it does and how long it lasts. Third-party ones appear only if you authorized their category.
Necessary
Always on. They cannot be switched off without breaking the site.
| Cookie | Set by | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
| risksint_cookies | risksint.org | Stores your cookie decision so we do not ask again on every page. Without it there would be no way to honour a “no”. | 180 días |
| risksint_session | risksint.org | Keeps your session open when you sign in. It only exists if you log in. | 7 días |
| NEXT_LOCALE | risksint.org | Remembers the language you chose, so you are not sent back to Spanish on every visit. | 1 año |
Analytics
Only with your consent. They tell us what is read and what is not; they do not target advertising at you.
| Cookie | Set by | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
| _ga, _ga_* | Google (Analytics) | Distinguishes visitors to count how many people use the site and which pages they read. Not used to target advertising at you. | 2 años |
| _gid | Google (Analytics) | Distinguishes visitors within the same day. | 24 horas |
Marketing
Only with your consent. They measure our campaigns and allow showing you our ads.
| Cookie | Set by | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
| _fbp | Meta (Facebook e Instagram) | Measures whether a visit came from an ad and whether it ended in an enquiry, and allows showing you our ads on Facebook or Instagram. | 90 días |
| bcookie, lidc, li_sugr, UserMatchHistory | Measures the results of our LinkedIn campaigns and allows targeting professional audiences. | de 1 día a 2 años, según la cookie | |
| __hstc, hubspotutk, __hssc, __hssrc, messagesUtk | HubSpot | Links your visit to the forms you submit and to your chat conversation, so our team knows what interested you before you wrote and can pick the conversation back up. | de la sesión a 6 meses, según la cookie |
Who else receives this data
When you authorize the analytics or marketing categories, these companies receive browsing data as controllers or joint controllers of that processing. Each has its own policy:
- Google Ireland Ltd. — policies.google.com/privacy
- Meta Platforms Ireland Ltd. — www.facebook.com/privacy/policy
- LinkedIn Ireland Unlimited Company — www.linkedin.com/legal/privacy-policy
- HubSpot Inc. — legal.hubspot.com/privacy-policy
Data leaving the country
These providers process data outside Colombia and, in some cases, outside the European Union. Transfers rely on standard contractual clauses and, where one exists, on the adequacy decision for the destination country, under chapter V of the GDPR and articles 26 of Law 1581 of 2012 and 24 and 25 of Decree 1377 of 2013.
How to change your mind
Withdrawing consent is as easy as giving it: no need to write to anyone or hunt for a form. The button below reopens the preferences panel, and what you choose replaces the previous decision immediately.
You can also delete or block them from your browser settings. Note that blocking the necessary ones will prevent signing in and will make the site ask about cookies on every visit.
How long your decision lasts
Your choice is stored for 180 days. After that we ask again, because open-ended consent stops being current. We also ask again if the purposes change or a new provider is added.
No cookie wall
Refusing is as simple as accepting — both buttons sit at the same level, on the same screen, with the same visual weight — and it closes no part of the site. Refusing does not stop you reading, downloading guides, registering for events or writing to us.
Your rights
You may access, update, rectify and delete your data, and revoke the authorization, by writing to habeasdata@risksint.com. In Colombia you may also complain to the Superintendency of Industry and Commerce once the procedure with us is exhausted (article 16 of Law 1581 of 2012). If you are in the European Union, you may complain to your country's supervisory authority.
